Men’s soccer at home Saturday night

This Saturday's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's soccer program returns to Kerscher Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 as they host the Oberlin Yeomen in nonconference action ... The Polar Bears enter the weekend's contest sporting a 2-2-1 overall record after knocking off D3soccer.com's No. 19-ranked Ohio Wesleyan squad 3-0 on Wednesday evening at Olentangy Liberty High School ... In the contest, senior Joseph Schulte netted the eventual game winner just 90 seconds into the contest while junior Luke Fickenworthand sophomore Beelal Hasan each added a strike to the scoreline ...

Gladys M Ward, 1922 - 2018

Gladys M. Ward, age 95, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018.

She was born on September 23, 1922 to the late Ottis and Juanita Newland.  On March 31, 1944, Gladys married Robert L. Ward who passed away May 1, 2018.  They celebrated 74 years together. 

          Gladys retired after 26 years at the Alger Grain Elevator.  She was a charter member of the Auglaize Bible Church.   Her pies and cookies were appreciated by the congregation at all the church functions.  Gladys’ church family have especially been kind to her following Bob’s passing.  Deb and her family wish to thank them for their many visits, lunch dates and phone calls, she appreciated them so much.

Topping Out held for engineering building

Ohio Northern celebrated the Topping Out ceremony when the final beam was put in place for the Janes Lehr Kennedy Engineering Building on Thursday. The final steel beam was signed by campus leaders, alumni, and students.

 

Ada soccer boys shut out Hornets

ADA - The Ada boys soccer team edged visiting rival Cory-Rawson with a 1-0 shutout Thursday evening.

Chris Reyes scored the lone goal of the game on an assist from Brendan Sheridan. Keeper Drew Hadley made four saves in goal.

Ada improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in NCOSA play with the victory over the always-tough Hornets.

The Bulldogs host New Knoxville Tuesaday, Sept. 18.

Ada runners 5th at Falcon meet

MT. BLANCHARD - The Ada cross country team finished a solid fifth out of 11 teams at the Riverdale Invitational Thursday evening.

Bulldog senior Miguel Jordan took fourth in the 119-runner field to pace Ada's strong showing. Jordan covered the 3.1-mile course in 18:17.22, 29 seconds behind the race winner.

Ada junior Michael Crouse came in 26th in 19:49.02 to finish second for the Bulldogs. Junior Hunter Wells followed him closely in 28th with a time of 19:51.2.
