Ada Kiwanis will install new officers on Sept. 25

Harold Friesner called the 44th meeting (Sept. 4th) of the 2011–2012 Kiwanis Year to order at 12:03 p.m.

The invocation was offered by Jon Umphress.

Taylor Cox, Katie Lorson and Allie Puntel, members of ONU Circle K were welcomed as guests.

The birthday of Marilynn Green(September7th) was celebrated in song

In business:
-President-Elect Myrna McCurdy has scheduled the installation of officers dinner for Tuesday September 25th in the Wishing, McIntosh Center.

-The club will participate in the annual Harvest and Herb Festival (Saturday, September 15th). Heather Cox reported that we have a spot reserved. Will have a 50-50 drawing and will be awarding pizza gift certificates.

-Ohio Kiwanis Governor Craig Wallace and First Lady Lee Ann will be in Bellefontaine, OH for a Divisions 2 and 3 meeting on October 8th. The meeting location is not certain. The club will have a location at next week’s meeting

-Incoming Lt. Governor Linda Steinbrunner is scheduled to join the club on September 11th for a get-acquainted visit. She like to meet officers prior to meeting at 11:30. Jon Umphress will have the club program.

-The club approved support for the Hardin Pioneers Aktion Club. The Ada and Kenton Kiwanis clubs will join together to financially support them.

-The club approved support for Devon Cox to participate in the Challenged Champions.

-Allie Puntel, ONU Circle K reported that there is underway. At their first meeting, there were 40 in attendance.  Ice cream sundaes were served. They are planning to assist at ReStore at the Harvest and Herb Festival with root beer floats.

-Kiwanis Education Minute: Each Kiwanis club in good standing is entitled to two voting delegates to each International convention and three voting delegates, two of whom must be the club president and president-designate, to each district convention. An alternate for each delegate also may be elected and will assume the delegate’s duties if the delegate is unable to serve. 

-Something to consider:
Did you know?  That Astronauts can’t belch? It is because there is no gravity in space to separate liquid from gas in their stomachs.
