Ada McDonald's collecting nonperishable items to help stock Ada Food Pantry

One of the best parts of the end of the year is the changing of the seasons and the chance for families to spend time together during the holidays.

Unfortunately, for many families the holiday season, which is filled with lavish meals for many, is a stark reminder of how difficult it can be to provide even a modest meal for their family.

The Ada McDonald’s Restaurant, owned by Jerry Lewis, is hoping to make a difference this holiday season by holding a drive for the Ada Food Pantry.

The Ada Food Pantry helps provide families in need with a two to three day supply of food in addition to some hygiene items as well.

Starting Nov. 1, the Ada McDonald’s will begin collecting nonperishable items including; canned goods, peanut butter and jelly, paper products, dry beans and pasta, macaroni and cheese, packaged dishes, popcorn, detergent, soap and any other basic necessities.

Customers who donate nonperishable items at the Ada McDonald’s Restaurant will receive a coupon for their next visit as a way of saying, thank you. The nonperishable items will be accepted at the Ada McDonald’s through Nov. 20.

“We love being a part of the Ada community. The food drive is just one way that we can bring the community together to help neighbors feed neighbors through the Ada Food Pantry,” says McDonald’s General Manager, Jonathan Lewis.

Customer who have additional questions about the nonperishable item drive for the Ada Food Pantry should contact  Lewis at 419-634-5246. For more information on the services that the Ada Food Pantry provides visit www.adafoodpantry.org.
