Women's basketball ranked No. 4 in latest D3hoops.com poll and USA Today sports coaches poll

The Ohio Northern women's basketball team moved up to a season high ranking of No. 4 in this week's D3hoops.com poll and USA Today Sports Division III Top 25 Coaches poll.

The Polar Bears received 522 votes in the D3hoops.com poll, which was 25 more than they received in last weeks poll.

DePauw (Ind.) stayed at the top of the poll with 623 points and 23 of the 25 first place votes, Calvin (Mich) is ranked second with 603 points and the two remaining first place votes and Hope (Mich.) is third with 563 points.

ONU was ranked No. 5 in last week's poll, No. 6 in the ninth poll, No. 8 in the seventh and eighth poll, No. 9 in the sixth poll, was No. 12 in the fifth poll, was No. 15 in the fourth poll, was No. 17 in the third poll, was No. 20 in the second poll and was No. 24 in the first poll.

In the USA Today Sports poll, Northern received 163 points, which tied them for fourth with Tufts (Mass.).

DePauw (Ind.) remained No. 1 with 200 points, followed by Calvin (Mich.) with 192 points and Hope (Mich.) with 183 points.

Ohio Northern has won a school record 21 games in a row, has an overall record of 22-1 and is in first place in the Ohio Athletic Conference with an 16-0 mark.

The Polar Bears have clinched the OAC regular season title, their first since the 1987-88 season.

Ohio Northern will be in action tomorrow when it travels to face off against Wilmington at 7:30 p.m.
