Coming soon to an observatory near you (ONU) - "Asteroids and Occultations"

Several events are scheduled at the Ohio Northern University observatory this spring.

On Friday, March 21, from 8 to 10 p.m. is a public event titled " "Asteroids and Occultations."

The observatory website notes that on the morning of Tuesday, April 15, there will be a total lunar eclipse. No observatory event is planned because of the late hour. Totality begins around 3:06 a.m. EDT and continues until 4:24 EDT. It should be a beautiful sight, with Saturn, Mars and Spica all within 23 degrees of the Moon.

• Friday, April 18,  9-11 p.m.. - Public Event.  "Mars near opposition."

• Friday, May 2, 9-11 p.m. - Public Event. "Saturn near opposition."
