15 Minutes with Gabi Rall, AHS senior, dreaming of becoming a pediatrician

By Torie Wright

How does it feel to be a senior? Have you ordered your cap and gown?
It is fun and exciting because I see the high school from a different perspective now. At the same time it is very overwhelming, stressful, and sad because there are a lot of deadlines to meet, and this is the last time that some of us seniors will do the activities that we participate in.

I ordered my cap and gown a few weeks ago.

What’s your schedule like? Do you enjoy your classes?
My schedule is very busy. During the school day I have nine classes and no study halls. I enjoy all my classes except for two of them because they are really hard.

Outside of school I have practices almost every day. Cheerleading and soccer just ended. Right now I am mainly busy with marching band/color guard, Varsity Singers, and winter guard.

Tell us your favorite high school memory.
My favorite high school memory is probably of all the winter guard shows I've participated in because it takes a lot of time, and effort. It's fun to go to the competitions with just a small group of people and we get to do the fun stuff that they take us to do.

How much do you think you’ve changed from the beginning of your freshman year until now?
Since the beginning of my freshman year I think I have changed a lot. I have become more self-confident and more aware of the real world. I have been able to become my own person.

Have you applied to any colleges?
I've applied to a few colleges so far. After I take some campus visits, I will be able to choose which college I will attend.

What do you want to major in?
I would like to major in Biology and go to med school.

What’s your dream job?
I would like to become a pediatrician.

Which foreign country would you most like to visit? Why?
I would like to visit Australia because it's a beautiful place and I love the animals there.

Have you seen any good movies lately?
Lately I haven't had time to see any movies. The last movie I saw in a theater was The Fault in Our Stars, which is very good.

If you had to give one piece of advice to a large group of people, what would you say?
I would say always be yourself. People will judge you and try to bring you down, but if you are yourself and are confident about things, it won't matter.
