Waldo Rayl was member of County Line Church of the Brethren

Waldo G. Rayl, 78, died on Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, at 10:43 a.m. at The Inpatient Hospice Care Center – Community Health Professionals of Van Wert, Ohio.

He was born Feb. 25, 1936, in Elida, Ohio, to Charles I. and Kathryn C. (Businger) Rayl and they preceded him in death. On Aug. 30, 1958, he married Edith A. “Edy” (Augsburger) in Benton Ridge and they were married for 53 years and she died Jan. 31, 2012.

Mr. Rayl was a member of the County Line Church of the Brethren, rural Ada. 

Also surviving are three daughters: Cheri (Tony) Newland of Roundhead, Debra (Mark) Nichols of Findlay, and Susan (Dan) Thompson of Alger; seven grandchildren: Jacob (Jessie) Newland of Carmel, Ind., Ryan (Katy) Newland of Rushsylvania, Matthew (Rachel) Nichols of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Aaron (Laura) Nichols of Germantown, Md., Lucas Thompson of Lima, and Katie (Ryan) Ulrey of Ada; seven great grandchildren; five brothers: Col. Wallace (Jean) Rayl of Cheyenne, Wy., Gerald (Dorothy) Rayl of Ada, Jerry (Alta) Rayl of Ada, David (Miriam) Rayl of Bradenton Beach, Fla., and Charles (Jan) Rayl of Lima; a sister, Shirley Whetzler of Bellefontaine; and a sister-in-law, Telitha Rayl of Ada.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel Rayl and Sister, Josephine Willeke.

Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at County Line Church of the Brethren, 4227 North Hardin Road, Harrod, with Pastor Tom Dearth, Pastor Dave Thompson and his nephew, Pastor David Burkhart officiating. Burial will be in Candler Cemetery, Ada.

Friends may call on Sunday, Dec. 21, from 2-6 p.m. at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals – Hospice.
