Helen Epley Shepherd was a 1938 Ada High School graduate

Helen E. Epley Shepherd, 94, died January 25 at 10:33 a.m. at Hearth & Home, Springfield, Ohio.

She was born September 19, 1920 in Owl’s Eye, Alberta, Canada to Ray and Grace (Stober) Epley and they preceded her in death. On June 27, 1942 she married Charles A. Shepherd and he died on January 8, 1968.

Helen was a homemaker and had worked at Liberty National Bank of Ada for 15 years. She was a graduate of Ada High School class of 1938.

Surviving is a son, Timothy Charles (Mary K.) of Springfield; a daughter, Rev. Diane Shedd of Valdosta, GA; six grandchildren: Amanda (Rob) Shaffer, Edward Shepherd, Patrick (Leigh Ann) Shepherd, Betsy (Tyson) Yirak, Paulo Neely and Charles A. Neely; ten great grandchildren: Samuel Shaffer, Jackson Shaffer, Anna Elizabeth Shaffer, Taylor Maggiore, Reagan Walker, Sophia Shepherd, Nora Shepherd, Jane Shepherd, Thatcher Yirak and Turner Yirak; mother of the Shepherd grandchildren, Lenane (Pat) Smith of South Vienna.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Bernard Epley, Everett Epley and Ross Epley; two sisters: Ivaleen Urich and Iotta Shelly.

Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home. Her daughter, Rev. Diane Shedd, will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio at 3 p.m. Jan. 31.

Friends may call one hour prior to the memorial service at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home.
