Ada matmen 7th at Spartan Invite

The Ada wrestling team finished seventh at the 16-team Spartan Wrestling Invitational at Lima Senior Saturday. Mechaniscsburg won the team competition with 296 points. Spencerville finished just ahead of Ada in sixth place with 107 points, compared to 103 by the Bulldogs.

Ada junior Chase Sumner (2-1 with a bye on the day) was pinned at 5:36 in the 138 lb. finals by Mechanicsburg's Alex Rhine to finish second. Several other Bulldogs had solid showings, led by a pair of freshmen.

Freshman Damien Cameron (3-2) came in third at the 113 lb. bracket, while fellow frosh Dillion Foster (2-1) finished fourth in the 120 lb. division. Junior Adam Bailey (1-1 with a bye) ended up fourth in the 285 lb. wieght class. 

Sophomore Carson Hissong (1-2) took sixth in the 145 lb. division. 

Junior Kade Cortez (1-3) pinned Patrick Dearwester of Cory-Rawson to end up seventh in the 132 lb. class. Junior Shaq White (1-3) finished seventh at 170 lbs. with a 13-3 decision over Adrian Hawkins of Rogers.
