“We will offer hand-selected one-half and three-quarter ton used trucks,” he said. “Our venture into truck sales compliments our tire sales. We are a totally retail-oriented business and are ready to service local customers in each of our vehicle-related ventures.”

He added that the Ada location offers light mechanical and alignment service. That includes brake work, alignment, ball joints and oil changes.

Ned McKinney, who has over 20 years of vehicle repair experience, is the Ada shop manager.

“We’ve worked for one year to put all this together,” said Dotson. “During this time we’ve serviced our own vehicles and now are ready to offer this service to the community.”

In addition, the company is now a dealership for TYM Tractors. According to Dotson, the company will specialize in compact tractors in the 18- to 100-horsepower range. With the dealership comes a complete service center offering service and parts.

Tommy Tires has an impressive expansion story. Tommy Tire Sales opened in Bluffton in 2010. It soon after opened a trailer division in 2012 and a tire location in Toledo that same year as well.

In 2012 Dotson and his wife started TTS Rentals and purchased the former Bluffton movie gallery on Jefferson Street and turned it into Tommy’s Plaza, which now houses four businesses.

To date TTS rentals now has 21 rentals ranging from residential to commercial properties stretching from Bluffton to as far as Van Wert County.

In 2015 Dotson made it possible for Lu Lu’s Diner expand to Bluffton, by purchasing the former Ideal Images building on East College Avenue.

In 2016, the company expanded its tire and trailer divisions with a new location in Ada. Also in 2016 Dotson purchased the former Easter Tire and retread location on North Street in Lima. Currently that location is rented to two companies but leaves Dotson a place to expand in the future.

To date the company has 23 employees and are continuing to expand.
Earlier this year the company teamed up with Bluffton Pediatrics and now provides free teddy bears to children who require medical services there.
