Story and photos by Monty Siekerman
In the blink of an eye, Ada 6th graders mulched the Railroad Park gardens on Thursday afternoon.

With the help of teachers and several village employees, the 75 students applied a mountain of mulch to all of the beds and planted some annuals.

This is a tradition that has been going on, toward the end of the school year, for 20 years. The assistance of the school kids saves a lot of labor and, hopefully, gives then an appreciation for the park, its Depot, and the newly-refurbished caboose.

Many people picnic in the park during the summer, and it is the location for several events during nice weather. In addition, the Depot is the site of many showers, receptions, and other activities.
