Two artistic candles on Gallery for the Arts birthday cake

Main Street gallery celebrates second year in business with Saturday open house

Provided by Karen Ward
On Saturday, July 8, Ada’s Gallery for the Arts, will host an open house complete with sweets and drinks to celebrate its 2nd birthday. The shop, opened in July of 2015, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ruth Roider, owner of this unique gift shop and gallery for local artists, had always desired to support the local artists with a place to feature their talents.

The shop/gallery includes pottery, fabric art, folk art, colored pencil sketches, photography (in the form of framed art and greeting cards), wood craftsmanship and jewelry.  Most items are for sale.

Nestled in and among these things are bits of Ada’s history. Roider has compiled and designed several booklets and pamphlets featuring the history of Ada, a tour of Ada’s historical landmarks and a visitor’s guide to Ada.

With a deep sense of commitment to her native village, she invests much of her life in helping keep fresh the richness of Ada and this community, along with supporting some of the local artist’s endeavors.

The coffee pot is usually on with comfortable seating inviting visitors to sit and enjoy the ambience of this unique and lovely environment. There are even a few shelves of used books to peruse through.

Hours of the Gallery are Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It can also be open by appointment.

Come, visit and support this local, lovely non-profit gift shop and gallery. For sure it is a delightful addition to the Ada Community and to it’s Main Street businesses.
