Harvest and Herb...here we come

Monty Siekerman's festival photo series - part 1

LOTS OF PHOTOS BELOW -

Note: We instructed Monty Siekerman to  photograph everything that moved on Saturday. He listened well. So well that we've split his photos into several themes. We'll share all the photos throughout the week.

To start, here's photos of Ada civic organizations and the opening ceremonies at noon.

• "Get your popcorn here," yell Thatcher Downing and Brendan Jameson to the passing crowd at the Boy Scout booth. Popcorn sales are a fundraiser for the local Scouts.

• Two youngsters leave the Lions Club booth with sandwiches and pop. All of the village's service clubs had a booth at Saturday's Harvest and Herb Fest.

• Ada Kiwanians Tom Kier (left) and John Berg hold containers of tickets for a raffle of bicycles sponsored by the club with proceeds going to youth programs in the community.

• Bev Romick (left) and Linda Ferguson help at the Junior Civic League booth.

• Ada Rotarians display some of the raffle items available at their booth. From left are Laurie Laird, Kevin Mierzejewski, and Mark Wipper.  People could play ring toss, too.

• Ali McClintock sings the National Anthem and the Ada VFW Post presents the colors at the opening ceremony of the Harvest and Herb Fest.

• Mayor Dave Retterer issues a welcome at the opening of the Harvest and Herb Fest.

• Ada Tree Commission set up shop in the Railroad Depot Park to hand out information and answer questions about how to keep trees in town beautiful. In addition, some of the new Village equipment was on display, including a street sweeper (2016), tractor for snow removal and other uses (2017), and a mower with an enclosed cabin that has attachments for multiple uses (2017)
