Six homes on historic home tour

Hosted by Hancock Historical Museum May 12-13

The Hancock Historical Museum will host the 2018 Historic Homes Tour Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13, according to Sarah Sisser, director.

The Historic Homes Tour has been a springtime favorite for more than 40 years.

The biennial event showcases the beautiful historic architecture of the City of Findlay and Hancock County with homes dating from the 1840s to the 1920s and encompassing a wide variety of architectural styles.

The weekend will kick-off on Saturday. May 12, with a Champagne and Candlelight Preview from 7-10 p.m. Five featured homes will be open for a limited number of guests for the VIP tour.

Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and desserts from local restaurants with accompanying wine pairings as they view these magnificent homes.

On Sunday, May 13, from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., guests will tour six featured homes at their leisure, with docents in each house offering information about the history of the homes and unique architectural details.

Guests may start at any of the six homes and proceed in any order. At the most recent Historic Homes Tour in 2016, more than 1,000 people participated in this local favorite event.

The following homes will be featured on the 2018 Historic Homes Tour:
Gray-Murphy House (c. 1880) – 829 S. Main Street, Findlay
