Author of Vietnam rescues speaker at Veterans Day breakfast

Breakfast for veterans and families in school cafeteria

Phil Marshall, a prolific writer about his rescues in a Huey helicopter in Vietnam, will speak at the Veterans Day breakfast which begins at 8 a.m. on Monday in the Ada Schools cafeteria.

Marshall, who now lives in Springfield, has written 13 books (sold on Amazon) about his war experiences. He flew medvac helicopters in Vietnam in 1969.

The free breakfast recognizes all veterans and their families as well as active duty personnel who live, work, or worship in the school district.

Marshall is also active in American Huey 360, a volunteer organization in Peru, Ind., that restores the Hueys to fly at air shows.

The Veterans Day observance at Ohio Northern will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday near the statue of Dr. Henry Solomon Lehr. In case of inclement weather, the occasion will be held in Presser Hall. All are welcome. Keith Harman, immediate past commander-in-chief of the VFW, will give the address.
