Beaverdam Summerfest Saturday

It’s a Saturday of fun in Beaverdam.

The Beaverdam-Richland Township Volunteer Fire and Rescue Departments hold their annual Summerfest in the downtown area.

This year’s event starts at 4 p.m. and goes into the evening hours.

You’ll find homemade food and ice cream, bouncy rides for youth plus entertainment at 5 p.m. by SaMaX, a three-member band from Lima.

Several raffle prize drawings are at 9 p.m. Tickets are available at $1 each or six for $5. Persons do not need to be present to win.

Members of the Ada Schools cafeteria team this year are: Front row, left to right, Susan Baughman, Kelly Kloeppel,  and Amy Sheldon; back row, left to right, Ramona Sumney, Sarah Staley, Angela Wurst, and Tamie Thompson.  School Superintendent Meri Skilliter said, "Our cafeteria staff really loves on our students and builds a great social/emotional supportive environment."

Women's golf opens season hosting the ONU Classic

The Ohio Northern University women's golf team will open its 2017 fall schedule by hosting the ONU Classic Sept. 2-3 at Colonial Golfers Club under fifth-year head coach Chad Bucci.

The Polar Bears will also play in tournaments at Ohio Wesleyan, Heidelberg and Wittenberg in the fall season for a total of eight rounds of competition.

The spring schedule is expected to be released in February. Check back to ONUSports.com for more details as they become available.

Ada linksters open season

COLUMBUS GROVE - Crestview won a three-team golf match of Northwest Conference foes to tee off the 2017 season Monday.

The Knights finished first wth 188 strokes, followed by Columbus Grove (206) and Ada (262).

Ada was led by freshman Brevin Sizemore, who shot a nine-hole score of 62. Juniors Austin Amburgey and Rob Allison each carded a total of 66. Junior Jake Colwell contributed a score of 68.

Hardin 4-H fashion review Aug. 19 at Ada First United Methodist

The Sew What 4-H Club and the Hardin County Homemakers invite Icon viewers to the Hardin County  4-H  Fashion Revue.

It is from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, at the Ada First United Methodist Church. Hardin County 4-H members will model their clothing and textile construction and consumer projects.
