Note: The Icon welcomes its newest advertiser, Infinity Salon and Wellness.
This spring Ellen Gilfillen of Bluffton took an empty Arlington storefront and converted it into a salon and wellness center.
“We bought the building and did a complete remodeling of it,” she said.
Known as Infinity Salon and Wellness, the business is located at 108 N. Main St., Arlington.
Gilfillen, a licensed massage therapist, is a 1991 Bluffton High School graduate. She is also an RN and, most recently has worked as needed, as a floor nurse at Vancrest in Ada.
These folks are opposed to gerrymandering, so they set up a table in the tree line in front of the Ada Public Library on Saturday trying to collect signatures from voters who were like-minded. How representatives' districts are drawn is part of the Ohio Constitution, but some people want that changed. They hope to have 305,000 signatures so that the issue can come to a vote in 2018. Mark Bricker, ONU/Sodexo grounds manager, tends a giant pot of annuals that add a splash of color to the Presser Hall entrance.
New this year are several pairs of large pots of flowers, which can be spotted at the walkway entrance between Hill and Dicke, between Wilson and Tilton, and Presser.
Mark, who has been at ONU for about a year, and his grounds crew tend the 342-acre campus that grows in beauty each year, now vying for one of the most beautiful campuses in Ohio.

The monthly meeting for the Jumbo Jr. Farmers was held Monday, July 10th at the McDonald Township Hall. The meeting was started by the 4-H Pledge being led by Claire Ketcham and the Pledge of Allegiance which was led by Drew Hoppe. At the meeting the group was given presentations by Kathryn Osborn on her County Demonstration project and some tips for members while judging. Our other presentation was given by Claire Ketcham on her cooking project where she made Trail Mix samples for the group to try. Also at the meeting we finished our fair entries for the upcoming 2017 Hardin County Fair.
