Rick Hamlin 1953 - 2019

Rick M. Hamlin, 66, died on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2019 at 12:51 a.m. at his residence in Dola. 

He was born on March 1, 1953, in Lima, Ohio to Maurice R. and Emmy J. (Manns) Hamlin.  His father, Maurice preceded him in death and his mother, Emmy J. Fox survives in Kenton. On Nov. 4, 1978 Rick married Brenda L. Brashear and she survives in Dola.

Rick retired from Durez Oxy Chemical of Kenton.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He was a member of the Kenton Moose Lodge #428, the Kenton Eagles Post #2163 and the AmVets. Rick was an avid fisherman, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sons: Nicholas Hamlin of New Stark, Justin (Tiffany) Hamlin of Dunkirk and Michael (Fiance Amber) Hamlin of Dola; a daughter, Amanda (Trevor) Benson of Kenton; nine grandchildren: Cohen, Rylee, Parker, Dylan, Archer, Wesley, River, Dante and Meyrick; five brothers: Dan (Hope) Hamlin of Holland, Craig (Dana) Hamlin of Monclova, Tim Hamlin of Toledo, Neil (Becky) Cooper of Dunkirk and Dennis Cooper of Detroit, Mich., three sisters: Rena (John) Jordan of Waterville, Deanna (Ronnie) Wages of Ada and Debbie (Steve) Behrens of Erie, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Hamlin of Toledo; and a special uncle, Siscoe (Sharon) Hamlin of Jackson, Mich.

Rick was preceded in death by three brothers: Terry Hamlin, Todd Hamlin and Allan Hamlin.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John’s Church of Christ, 211 East Carrol Street, Kenton, on Saturday, Aug. 31, at 11 a.m. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Not By Choice of Kenton and/or Bridge Hospice of Findlay and/or the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
