Something you already knew: Ada is a safe place to live

But, did you know it's ranked 7th safety city in Ohio?

According to figures based upon FBI crime data, including violent crime and property, an organization called HomeSnacks rates Ada as the 7th safety city in Ohio.

Although Ada is technically a village, the data includes Ohio Northern University students, which bumps up the population above 5,000, making Ada a city.

HomeSnacks lists the following as the top 10 safest cities in Ohio for 2020:

1 – Olmsted Falls
2 – Sagamore Hills
3 – Broadview Heights
4 – Waterville
5 – Kirtland
6 – Rocky River
7 – Ada
8 – North Ridgeville
9 – Hudson
10 – Seven Hills

HomeSnacks said: "While there are surveys and public polls on what cities in a state are the safest, we didn't want to rely on speculation and opinion.

"Instead, we looked at the hard numbers from the FBI's most recent report of crime (Published Sept 2019) in Ohio.

"Specifically, we analyzed the FBI's Uniform Crime Report which summarizes the number of property crimes and violent crimes in each city per year. We used two criteria:
• Violent crimes per capita (murders, assaults, rapes, armed robberies)
• Property crimes per capita (thefts, burglaries, motor vehicle thefts)
