COLUMBUS GROVE - Ada finished seventh at the Northwest Conference championship wrestling tournament hosted by Columbus Grove High School on Saturday, February 15.
Defending champion Allen East won its ninth all-time NWC crown with 341 points to easily out-distance second-place Spencerville (223). Bluffton was right behind the Bearcats in third (218.5).
Ada ended up seventh with 106 points to finish 33 points ahead of last-place Lincolnview.
Bulldog senior Reece Evans posted the best Ada individual finish, coming in second in the 152 lbs. class. Evans went 4-1 with four wins by pin before falling to Chase Miller of Allen East in the title bout.
Ada junior Colton Biederman finished third in the 120 lbs. division with a 2-2 record.
Freshman Antonio Pettit also posted a 2-2 record at 113 lbs. to end up third.
Bulldog junior Cameron Bober went 3-2 to capture fifth at 160 lbs.
Junior Jonathan McClain was 1-2 in preliminary play but went 2-0 in tournament action to come in fifth in the 220 lbs. division. He pinned his Delphos Jeff opponent in the fifth-place match.
Ada senior Noah Arnett went 0-2 in pool play but rebounded to win two matches via pin in the heavyweight class brackets to finish fifth.
Freshman Kyle Mattson finished 1-3 and came in seventh in the 170 lbs. bracket with a 9-6 decision win.
Junior Cole Anspaugh went 1-4 with a pin to end up eighth at 145 lbs.

The Bulldog varsity grapplers return to action Wednesday, February 19 with a home tri-match vs. county rivals Riverdale and Kenton at 6 p.m.
The Div. III sectionals at LIma are set for Fenruary 28-29.
