ONU shares guidance on using campus outdoor facilities

Asks groups not to congregate on campus and follow CDC guidelines

Ohio Northern University shares guidance on using campus outdoor facilities with community during stay-at-home order

Under Gov. DeWine’s Stay-at-Home Order, residents are encouraged to get outside for exercise and fresh air.

If families use campus resources for this purpose (the Green Monster and other walkways), it is permitted to stay together with members of your family, but please stay a minimum of six feet from anyone else. Please see further details and expectations below.

Ohio Northern University asks groups not to congregate on campus and follow CDC guidelines.

Ohio Northern encourages faculty, staff, students and community members who utilize our beautiful campus for their recreation needs to observe the CDC’s guidelines on social distancing and personal hygiene.

We welcome people to use the Green Monster, Kerscher Stadium outdoor track for walking or running (no rollerblading, biking or scooters), campus sidewalks, tennis courts and disc golf course, but please do not congregate on campus grounds.

We have been made aware that groups are gathering to play pickup games of soccer, to picnic and are walking too closely together. Ohio Northern will continue to comply with Gov. DeWine's executive order which is in effect until May 1.

The University is monitoring the COVID-19 situation state-wide and will remain in close contact with local and state officials in order to do what is best for the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff and community.

We do not make these decisions lightly, but believe they are necessary for the protection of public health and safety. We recognize this is a difficult time, made more difficult by restricting access to our beautiful campus.
