Ron Klingler steps down from his volunteer park board post

Served on the Ada park board for 26 years • Fred Reichert is his replacement

Ron Klingler has stepped down from his volunteer position as a member of  the Ada Park Board. He has served on the board for 26 years and was recognized during his final meeting held Nov. 16.

Jane Lee, park board clerk, said that many improvements took place in the park while Klingler served on the board. These include the addition of two new shelter houses, a new fence around the football field, repaving of the basketball courts and a complete electrical rewiring of the entire park.

The new shelter house completed this fall will be available for rental use next summer. The enclosed structure is 30 by 70 feet.

The shelter house on the south side of the park, known as the Lions Club shelter house, was placed this fall.

Fred Reichert will replace Klingler in January, as the board does not meet in December.

He joins other board members Bob Szuch (board president) and Randy Preston.

Klingler is the second park board member to step down this year. In April Tony Wolke, who served as a volunteer board member for 25 years, stepped down. Preston replace Wolke on the board.

Ken Wolke is the park manager. Mike Simon is a member of the staff and Dale Madison works part-time in the summer.

The park board meets on the third Monday of the month at 7:30 p.m. in the park board office on North Park Drive.
