9 Polar Bears named All-OAC in football

Nine Ohio Northern student/athletes were named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in football for 2020-21 in voting conducted by the league's 10 head coaches.

Seniors Brody Hahn (Louisville), A.J. Marks (Guysville/Alexander), Jared Ritenour (Rockford, Ill./Lake Center), Chase Rose (Kenton/Upper Scioto Valley) and Jarrett Sitton (Paulding) and sophomore Josh Bever (Ashland) were all named All-Conference.

Junior Austin Eick (Rossford), sophomore Nichal Johnson (College Park, Ga./Northgate) and freshman Noah Miller (Coldwater) received Honorable Mention All-OAC honors.

This year the First and Second Teams were combined into one larger single group of All-Conference award winners.

Hahn had a record-setting season in his first year as a Polar Bear after transferring from Muskingum, where he was a three-year starter.

He completed 71-of-115 passes for 1209 yards and 10 touchdowns against only one interception and set a school single season record with a quarterback passing rating of 177.0. He also ran 43 times for 246 yards and seven touchdowns.

Hahn threw for a school-record 463 yards and tied the single-game record with 29 completions, going 29-of-41, in the season finale at Heidelberg.

Marks moved to safety this season, playing in his third position in the past three seasons after being a running back as a sophomore and a slot receiver as a junior.

He finished the season with 22 tackles, two interceptions, four passes broken up and a fumble recovery. He also returned seven kickoffs for 116 yards.

Marks has rushed for 638 yards and four touchdowns, has caught 31 passes for 320 yards and four touchdowns and has returned 23 kickoffs for 374 yards to amass 1,332 all-purpose yards in his career.

Ritenour was named All-OAC in his first season as a starter at left tackle for ONU. He has played in 14 career games.

Rose is now a two-time All-Conference honoree at receiver after being named Second Team as a junior in 2019.

This season, he caught 12 passes for 288 yards and four touchdowns. In his 29-game career, he has 71 receptions for 1,241 yards and 13 scores.

Sitton is also a two-time All-OAC pick as he was Honorable Mention as a defensive end last year.

He finished this season with 21 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 4 TFL. In 23 career games, Sitton has 64 tackles, 9 sacks and 13 TFL.

Bever is a two-time All-OAC pick at defensive end. He was named Third Team All-Region and First Team All-OAC as a freshman in 2019.

This season, Bever had 27 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 7.5 TFL. In his two seasons as a Polar Bear, Bever has 81 tackles, 16 sacks and 23.5 TFL in 14 games.

Eick is now a two-time Honorable Mention All-Conference selection at receiver.

He caught 20 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns this season. In his 24 game career, Eick has 65 receptions for 1,169 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Johnson started all for games at defensive end this season and finished the year with 24 tackles, 4.5 sacks and 8 TFL in his first season as a starter.

He has 28 tackles, 6.5 sacks and 10 TFL in 10 career games.

Miller finished his rookie season with 15 catches for 182 yards and a score from his tight end position.

The Polar Bears posted a 3-1 record and finished second in the West Division of the OAC this season under 17th-year head coach Dean Paul.
