St. Mark and Sugar Grove hold community meal Jan. 27

Drive-up/walk-up meal served from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

St. Mark Lutheran Church and Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will hold its "Last Wednesday Community Meal"  Wednesday Jan. 27. The meal will be served at St. Mark, 125 S. Johnson St.

The meal will be served drive up/walk up only and is free to the community.  The menu includes chicken and noodles, potatoes, green beans and pie.

The meal runs 5  to 6:30 pm. Current safety protocols will be observed.

St. Mark Lutheran Church will hold its "Last Wednesday Community Meal"  Wednesday Dec. 30. 

The meal will be served drive up/walk up only and is free to the community.  The meal is not fully planned yet, but will involve some sort of ham. 

The meal runs 5  to 6:30 pm. Current safety protocols will be observed.

"In October we served over 80 meals and ran out," Tom Lehman told the Icon. "We would like to see that turn out again - without the running out part."

Icon invites churches to submit Christmas eve details for posting

The Ada Icon invites churches in the Icon's viewership area to send information about Christmas eve services.

Ada church provides Facebook Christmas church decoration tour

Ada First United Methodist Church posted a 2 and one-half minute video on its Facebook that shares its church decorations with the public.

The video went live on Sunday and begins with a visit to the church altar with a Christmas creche tableau of the birth of Jesus.

Soon the video takes viewers to a close up of a Christmas tree, red poinsettias and closes with a reflection of the main church window on the Christ child.

Bold Butterfly pattern quilt raffle underway

Ada First United Methodist Women are selling tickets for a quilt raffle and the drawing is Monday, Dec. 14. The quilt is a "Bold Butterfly" pattern.

Tickets are $2 for one and $5 for three. Tickets are available from Janet Roll, Cathy Smalley and Connie Fleming.

No "last Wednesday" community meal in November

The "last Wednesday" community meal hosted by St. Mark Lutheran and Sugar Grove United Methodist Church will not take place in November. Watch the Icon for an announcement concerning the December meal.
