Bond night at Ada council

Five ordinances on tonight's agenda

Ada council will act on five ordinances tonight (Tuesday, June 16) concerning bond sales.

The action will be considered as emergency ordinances. Each ordinance provides for the issuance and sale of bonds. The bond totals follow:

Ordinance 2020-04
$2.1 million for refunding debt charges, saving the village’s outstanding various-purpose improvement and refunding bonds from October 2013.

Ordinance 2020-05
$640,000 for paying costs of improvements to the municipal swimming pool.

Ordinance 2020-06
$425,000 for paying costs of improvements to the municipal building.

Ada pool putting things in place for a July 1 opening

Council hires staff in special meeting

Ada council hired its 2020 swimming pool staff in a special meeting on June 9.

It is the village intention to open the Ada pool on Wednesday, July 1. An additional council discussion will take place soon regarding specific pool guidelines. Watch the Icon for those updates.

Ashley Sumner of Ada, and a recent Ohio University graduate, will manager the pool. Assistant managers are Alexa Hawk (covid-19 compliance manger), Josie Poling and Caitlyn Stover.

Special council meeting tonight - pool staff hiring on agenda

Ada council will hold a special meting at 6:30 p.m., tonight (June 9) to hire lifeguards and cashiers for the 2020 pool season.

The meeting will  be held virtually.

The 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, Ada council meeting will be held as a virtual WebEx meeting, accoridng to Angela Polachek of the village.

The public is asked to enter the meeting with the audio feature muted and the visual feature disabled. 

The public will have an opportunity to speak when called upon during the "Open Floor to the Public" agenda item.  If anyone would like to submit a question or comment to Council prior to the meeting, please click here.

Ada council will meet virtually on April 21 through Zoom or some similar service that is available from our web developer. We will address issues such as how to have an executive session, time for public comment and so forth within the next week so we can test and be ready for the following week's meeting.
