Ada council will assign a refuse agreement from Wright to Rumple

Tuesday meeting in the depot

Two pieces of legislation are on the agenda for the Tuesday, Aug. 6, Ada council meeting. The meeting takes place in the Ada railroad depot at 6:30 p.m.

Council will act on a resolution to assign a refuse agreement from Wright Refuse, Inc., to Rumple Waste and Recycling. The resolution will be considered as an emergency.

Also on the agenda is the first reading of an ordinance authorizing the mayor to assess street lights in the village for 2020.

Mid-year village income tax report

Receipts up 4.52 percent from last year

At mid-year, Ada’s village income tax receipts are up 4.52 percent over the same period last year, according to Jeff Oestreich.

Oestreich presented the report during a July Ada council meeting earlier this month. The total collected during the first six months of 2019 reached $609,301 compared to $582,952 in 2018, for an increase of $36,339.

The safety income tax is up $13,169 and pool income tax reserves is up $3,950.

Ada council will hear updated fiscal officer's report on Tuesday

Ada council’s Tuesday meeting take place in the Ada railroad depot, according to Angela Polachek. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m.

The agenda includes action on two pay ordinances. A fiscal officer’s report will show the June statement of village cash comparing 2019 with 2018. An income tax revenue report as of June 30 will also be given.

The Tuesday, Aug. 6, council meeting will also take place in the depot.

Ada council meets at Vancrest on Tuesday

The Tuesday, June 18, Ada council meeting takes place at Vancrest Assisted Living, 600 W. North St., according to the village.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. immediately following a building and grounds committee meeting.

In addition to several committee reports, council will act on the third reading of an ordinance that recodifies certain ordinances in the codified ordinances of the village.

Tuesday's Ada council meeting moved to Vancrest

Tuesday's Ada council meeting's location is at Vancrest Assisted Living, 600 W. North Ave., according to Angela Polachek, village administrative assistant.

The meeting take splace at 6:30 p.m. Staff will be on hand to direct visitors to the designated meetign place.

Ada council dismisses its fiscal officer

Action followed a one-hour executive session

Crystal Huffer, Ada village fiscal officer, was dismissed from her employment with the Village of Ada during action in a special council meeting held April 12.

The action resulted following a one-hour executive session by Ada council members prior to the open session of the meeting.

Council president Don Fleming moved and Jeff Oestreich seconded a motion for Huffer’s dismissal.

According to minutes from the meeting, the dismissal was “due to misfeasance, malfeasance and nonfeasance, each of which is a  group III offense as per the Village’s Policy and Procedure Manual.”
