61 Ada HS seniors get their diplomas

Family and friends were proud and happy Sunday afternoon when 61 Ada High School students received their diplomas in the school gym.  Nine of them completed their studies at Apollo Career Center.

Soon-to-be-graduates processed into the gym while the high school band played "Fanfare and Processional."

History teacher Mike Styer gave the commencement address.

Zach Beaschler in Elite 8

Ada's Zach Beaschler won 6-0, 6-1 in the round of 16 before dropping 6-1, 6-3 in the quarter finals on Saturday at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Mason.

He attained an Elite 8 finish among all Division II single players in the state.

Junior Lynn Kelly named Academic All-Ohio in tennis

ONU junior Lynn Kelly (Mason) has been named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference in women's tennis for the 2017 season.

The junior Nursing major earned the honor for the first time in her career.

Kelly, a First Team All-Conference honoree, posted a 5-2 record in singles play this season and went 8-3 during doubles play.

Mom and Dad mourning doves in the "nursery"

Cousins named OAC Academic All-Ohio in lacrosse

ONU junior Chelsea Cousins (Lewis Center/Olentangy) has been named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference for women's lacrosse in 2017.

Cousins, a Civil Engineering major, earned the honor for the second consecutive season.

She started in 15 games for the Polar Bears this season.

Cousins ranked fourth on the team with 28 grounds balls and was third on the team with 18 caused turnovers.

The Polar Bears finished 3-13 overall under second year head coach Beth Hemminger
