Flu season strikes Ada schools

chool nurse, administration offers prevention techniques

From our school nurse and administration:

There has been a steady increase in illnesses/absences among the students of Ada Schools. Respiratory symptoms of coughing, chest congestion, sore throat, runny nose and sneezing are among our students as well as the flu-like symptoms of fever, chills, headache and nausea. The spread of these airborne viruses can be controlled with prompt diagnosis and effective preventative measures.

A child needs to be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.  Any child placed on antibiotics is contagious to his peers until the first full day of medication has been administered.

Live life to the fullest

I have a relative, a friend, and a preacher-man acquaintance, all with a neurological disease: multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy. No wonder I found myself in a doctors office reading a book about artists with one of these neurological conditions. The point of this article is to encourage those who have a progressive disease, neurological or otherwise, not to give up, test your talents, and live life as fully as possible every day. Even if you yourself don't have such a condition, you probably know someone who does.
