David T. Allen, 56, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at 5:06 a.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.
He was born on Aug. 15, 1964, in Lima, to Kash and Patricia (Thompson) Allen. His father survives in Alger and his mother preceded him in death.
David was a truck driver. He formerly attended the Alger First United Methodist Church. David enjoyed riding his motorcycle and had a love for music.
Also surviving is his children: David K. Allen of Alger and Melanie (Kyle) Albert of Forest; three grandchildren; his girlfriend, Ruth Cramer of Alger; and two sisters: Debbie (Ronald) Frazier of Ada and Julia (Steve) McClure of Alger.

With Ada school students returning to classes on Dec. 7, the school menus are now available from Dec. 7 to the last day of the 2020 school year, Dec. 18.

ADA - The Bulldog varsity swim team has a new coach with a familiar face this winter in an Ada native.
Former Bulldog and Ohio Northern University swimmer Katey Stuart assumes the reins of the Ada swim program this season.
Stuart is a pharmacy major at ONU, and has finished her eligibility for the Polar Bear swim team. She will get coaching help from former Ada swimmer Zach Beaschler.
Due to the pandemic, for the first time in almost 20 years the team is unable to practice at the ONU natatorium. Instead, the squad has to practice at the Kenton YMCA.

Ada students will return to classroom learning on Monday, Dec. 7, in two different models. Those are explained in this story from the school website.
After several weeks of remote learning, the state, county, and our community are still experiencing a rise in the number of positive Covid cases and quarantines.
However, we feel that we need to safely get our students back in the building and with their teachers.
Our experience with contact tracing has shown that each positive student case has resulted in 10-20 quarantines each time.
