Thomas A. Lawrence worked for Ball Metal Container

Thomas A. Lawrence, age 75, passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 9:13 p.m. at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on January 27, 1946 in Alger, Ohio to the late Lester and Daisy (Johnson) Lawrence.  In November of 1970 Thomas married Judith A. Lawrence and she preceded him in death on September 21, 2019.

Thomas retired from Ball Metal Container, where he worked in the maintenance department.  He was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church.  Thomas was a member of the U.S. National Guard.

Ronald Shun was a U.S. Army Colonel

Ronald James Shun, age 56, passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 7:55 p.m. at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.

He was born on April 4, 1965, in Germany to Neil and Erika (Matula) Shun. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in California. Ronald married Minda J. Moore and she preceded him in death on February 10, 2021.

Ronald is survived by his two children: Nicholas Shun of Fairview Park and Lillian (Peter) Soos of Marion; a grandson, Declan; a brother, Rob (Mary) Shun of California; and a sister, Diane (Cliff) Bumanglag of California.

Dick Hubbard was President/CEO of Liberty National Bank

Charles Richard “Dick” Hubbard, age 86, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 10:25 a.m. at the Bowling Green Bridge Hospice Care Center.

He was born on November 5, 1934 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Charles Richard and Lucille (Johnson) Hubbard. Dick was previously married to Nancy Hubbard. On March 19, 1993 Dick married Eilene Parshall and she survives in Ada.

Jean Dodds worked at HARCO Industries

E. Ragene “Jean” Dodds, age 82 passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 9:43 p.m. at Blanchard Place, Kenton.

She was born on October 6, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Vernon and Mary E. “Betty” (Stuber) Dodds. 

Jean worked at HARCO Industries in Kenton. She attended the Abundant Life Assembly of God, Kenton. 

She is survived by her sister, Judy (Gary) Risner of McGuffey; and four nieces and nephews: Tony Risner, Tina (Steve) Oglesbee, Teri (Ed) Wyss, and Tracy (Becky) Risner.

It was Jean’s wish to be cremated. Arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Blanchard Place and/or HARCO Industries.

Robert L. Shields worked for Ada High School

Robert L. Shields, Jr.  age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 12:46 a.m. at Mercy-Health St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.

He was born on July 7, 1943 in Ada, Ohio to the late Robert and M. Irene (Cheney) Shields, Sr.  On November 27, 1965 Robert married Myra E. Bowman and she survives in Ada.

Clara Jewel Marshall was born in Pineville, KY

Clara Jewel Marshall, age 73, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 11:03 p.m. at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on May 24, 1948, in Pineville, Kentucky to the late Dit and Harriett (McNew) Evans.  On March 22, 1967, Jewel married Haulie Marshall and he survives in Ada.
