Janet L. Stoodt, age 83, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at The Grove at Oakleaf Village, Columbus. 

She was born on October 24, 194,1 in Lima, Ohio to the late Lloyd L. and Cora Ruth (Kidd) Stoodt. Also preceding Janet in death are three brothers: Richard Stoodt, David Stoodt, and Dennis Stoodt; and a sister, Carol “Sue” Perkins.

Janet is survived by her brother, Galen Stoodt of Lima; three nephews: David Ray (Kim) Perkins, Dale (Ann) Perkins and Darrell Perkins; and a niece, Alicia (Paul) Schultz.

Janet retired from Walmart after working for 20 years. She was a member of the Liberty Chapel United Methodist Church of LaFayette.

BLUFFTON__The visiting Ada High School girls soccer team lost 5-0 at local rival Bluffton in the Div. V Northwest 2 District semifinals at Steinmetz Field on a cool Monday night, October 20.

Ada finished its season 12-5-2 after the tough defeat. The Bulldogs set a program season record for most wins in a single season, shattering the previous mark of 10.

Bluffton improved to 10-8-1 with the victory. Playing a rugged non-league schedule made the Pirate girls better than their record indicates.

OCT 21 MEDIA RELEASE__The Hardin County Sheriff's Office has been awarded a total of $35,850.90 in federal traffic safety funding through the Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) to support enforcement and educational initiatives throughout Federal Fiscal Year 2026 (October 1, 2025 - September 30, 2026). 

The grant includes $17,175.45 through the Impaired Driving Enforcement Program (IDEP) and $18,675.45 through the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP). Funding will be used for high-visibility traffic enforcement and community outreach focused on reducing crashes involving impaired driving, speeding, distracted and aggressive driving and other high-risk behaviors.

FROM BHS TEXT ALERTS__The Ada High School girls soccer team will play the Bluffton Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20 in a District Semi-Final game at Steinmetz Field in Bluffton.

There will be a 5 p.m. game between Continental and Columbus Grove. The Ada-Bluffton game will start approx. 30 minutes after the first game ends.
