Ada’s Baumgartner finishes on final podium at OHSAA swim meet

CANTON__Ada High School junior Lily Baumgartner fared well in both of her A Finals races at the Ohio state Div. II swim meet Friday evening in the C.T. Branin Natatorium at Canton.

HARDIN COUNTY__The Conservation Tillage & Technology Conference (CTC) will be held in-person on March 12-13 at Ohio Northern University in Ada.

The first day of this year’s conference will feature Alex Harrell, Soybean Yield Champion from southwest Georgia with a yield of 206 bushels per acre. His presentation has been made possible by sponsor Brandt Professional Agriculture.

Shawn Conley, Extension Soybean Specialist, University of Wisconsin, will return and be paired with Alex Harrell and Laura Lindsey, OSU Extension, during the Agronomic Crop Management session after lunch, Tuesday. Shawn Conley is always one of the conference’s most popular speakers.

PHOTO Meet four Speak to Lead participants

FFA members from Ada High School traveled to Wilmington College to participate in the Speak to Lead Invite. Taylor Price and Dailah Preston recited the FFA Creed. Aidra Preston recited her speech titled “The Importance of Family Farms.” Katelynn Metzger participated in the extemporaneous speech category in which you draw a topic and have 30 minutes to prepare a 4-minute speech.

Due to COVID-19, Elton John suspended his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour in 2020. During the pandemic, he formed collaborations with other artists including Dua Lipa. They did an upbeat remix titled Cold Heart, which hit number 1 in 12 countries.

CANTON__Ada High School junior Lily Baumgartner qualified for the finals at the Ohio state Div. II meet with good preliminary showings Thursday, February 22, in both the 100-yard backstroke and 100 freestyle races.
