ONU senior Leah Casey won the Bruce Chesser Award for ceramics at this year's ArtSpace/Lima annual juried exhibit. The award is named in honor of Prof. Chesser, retired faculty member who specializes in ceramics.

Leah, originally from Seville, Ohio, is pursing a B.F.A. degree in studio arts with a 3D concentration, an option in art therapy, and a B.S. degree in psychology. She is a member of the Arts and Sciences Student Advisory Council and president of the Kappa Pi art honorary.

Men's tennis ends season 6-3

LIMA — The Ohio Northern men's tennis team wrapped up its regular season with a 6-3 loss to Capital on Sunday afternoon indoors at the Westwood Tennis & Fitness Center.

The Polar Bears fall to 11-10 overall and are 3-5 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Crusaders improve to 8-15, 4-4.

ONU will be the No. 6 seed in next week's OAC Tournament and will play at third-seeded Baldwin Wallace on Tuesday.

The semifinals and finals are slated for Friday and Saturday at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason.

Record setting effort at OAC golf championships

WEST LAFAYETTE -- Seniors Tyler Davis (Liberty Center) and Blaine Ricketts (Belle Center/Ben Logan) earned All-Conference honors to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team in a record-setting effort at the 2017 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships Thursday-Saturday at River Greens Golf Club.

The Polar Bears end their season with a 49-33-1 record after finishing fourth of eight teams with a 54-hole total of 296-299-308—903.

Generally, about 20 to 25 dogs are available for viewing.

The shelter is also the place to contact for giving up a dog, if you find a lost or stray dog, or if you come in contact with a vicious dog. It costs $20 to surrender a dog, which pays for deworming and immunizations for when it is rescued.

ONU baseball wins 2, seniors recognized

The Ohio Northern baseball team celebrated Senior Day as they defeated Capital 12-7, 5-2 on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The Polar Bears improve to 20-17 overall and 7-9 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Crusaders fall to 16-19, 4-12.

Game two of the double header was called after seven innings due to rain and lightning.

Following the double header, Northern honored seniors Devin Carr (Newark/Licking Valley), Zach Foster (Wayne/Elmwood), Jacob Lochard (Sidney), Zach Maier (Huntsville/Indian Lake), and Casey Mulcahy (Lima/Shawnee).

Men place second in OAC track and field

Junior Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) posted two first place finishes to lead the No. 29-ranked Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team to a second place finish at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon in New Concord.

The Polar Bears (65-16 overall) finished second with 124.5 points.

Molinaro got Northern off to a solid start as he opened the afternoon with an All-Conference mark and claimed the 1,500-meter run title in a facility record time of 3:59.40.

The junior also claimed first place in the 800-meter run with an OAC record and facility record time of 1:51.46.
