Several Bulldogs named All-NWC

Ada senior standout Jordan Bailey and speedy junior Chase Sumner were both voted first team All-Northwest Conference on offense and defense by the league football coaches in a meeting this past Monday at Delphos.

Bailey and Sumner each were named first team all-league wide receivers. Bailey also made first team at linebacker, while Sumner made it as a defensive back.

Bulldog senior Mason Klingler was voted first team all-league as a defensive lineman.

Ada junior Jacob Hoschak, senior wideout Owen Conley and junior quarterback Seth Conley were all named to the NWC second team offense.

It was quite a feast!

Overflow audience attends this year's Music Booster show choir fest'

Akron's ETC swing choir is all energy and excitement as the group performs at the Music Feast held at Ada High School all day on Saturday.

The 540-seat auditorium was filled to capacity with many spectators viewing the show choirs on a large screen in an overflow room. The high reputation of the well organized local competition draws some of the best swing choirs in Ohio each year.

And, the Music Feast is one of the state's oldest song, dance, band competitions.

Second annual 5K and 1-mile Reindeer Run Nov. 13

The second annual 5K and 1-mile Reindeer Run will be held at Ohio Northern at 2 p.m on Sunday, Nov 13, to benefit stuffed polar bears to be given to children at Lima Memorial Hospital.

Registration for the fun run will take place at King Horn. Cost is $15, including a t-shirt. The first 20 people to register will receive free reindeer antlers.

The event is sponsored by Kappa Alpha Theta social sorority and Mortar Board honorary who encourage people to "dress up for the holidays and join us."

Request for thin people

The ONU art and design department put out a call for thin people to pose for a drawing class. These guys showed up...on Halloween. They were good models since they knew how to hold a pose. (Monty Siekerman)

ONU Musical Theatre Class performs Saturday at Viva Maria's

The ONU musical theatre class of 2017 will perform at Viva Maria's at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, according to Madeleine Gish, of the group.

"The musical theatre class of 2017 is made up of six students. It was originally only five of us including Molly Moreau, Josh Heard, Katie Hotz, Lani Coleman, and myself," said Gish.

"Because our class was so small we became a close-knit group from the beginning. Over the past few years we have grown in all aspects of our lives from how we perform to who we are as people."

Volleyball: Millikin stops ONU in first round of NCAA tourney

No. 22-ranked Ohio Northern fell in a thrilling 25-12, 19-25, 25-20, 22-25, 17-15 match to Millikin (Ill.) in the First Round of the Calvin Regional in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament on Thursday afternoon at the Van Noord Arena.

The Polar Bears see their 19-match winning streak come to an end and will end their season with a 27-4 record.

The Big Blue improves to 27-11 and will now face the winner of Thursday's second match between No. 6 Wittenberg and Bethany (W.Va.)
