Bulldog golf season underway

MINSTER - The Ada golf team played a tri-match to tee off its season at the Arrowhead Golf Club in Minster.

Riverside won the event with a total of 211 strokes. New Bremen shot 217, while Ada tallied a 233 score. 

"It was great to get back out and play again," said veteran Bulldog head golf coach Jason Campbell. "The team understands what it meant to be the first Ada team to play a game (since the pandemic hit). And how important it was to set a good example."

Jacob Morgan and Andrew Rush paced the Bulldogs with identical nine-hole scores of 56. Kamron Wilkerson carded a 60, while Dexter Woods registered a 61.

Jack Baumgartner carded a 65, while Geddes Klingler posted a round of 70 for Ada.

It was reported that all players wore masks on the first hole, then took them off for the final eight holes while maintaining social distance on the fairways and greens.

Ada golfers fall at Red Devils
FINDLAY - The Ada golf team played a dual match vs. Arlington at Sycamore Springs Golf Course in Findlay Monday.

The Red Devil linksters out-shot Ada to win the match, 189-220.

Jacob Morgan topped the Bulldogs with a nine-hole score of 51. Dexter Woods carded a 53, while Andrew Rush posted a round of  55. Kamron Wilkerson tallied a 61 to round out the Bulldog scorers. 

Ada (0-3) is slated to play at the Auglaize Golf Club Tuesday, Aug. 11 against host Paulding and two other teams. Play is scheduled to tee off at 10 a.m.
