By Paula Scott

At 7:38 p.m. on Monday, July 31, a two-vehicle injury accident occurred on the east side of the 300 block of N. Main Street in Ada. The report provided by the Ada Police Department provides the following details.

Witness Deleana Downing stated that while northbound on Main she was stopped for a red light at Highland. She saw a vehicle coming upon her extremely fast and got in the left lane so it could pass her. She saw the vehicle move to the right and hit a parked pick up truck.

The sport utility vehicle that struck the parked truck was driven by Malcom Castle Jr., 79, who was attended by Ada-Liberty EMS and transported to Mercy Health. The report shows that he was distracted by an unknown factor. Occupant Patricia Castle, 79, was also injured and taken to Mercy Health.

Both individuals were listed as “suspected serious injury.” Front and side airbags were deployed.

The parked pick up truck that was struck is owned by Ronald Evans.
