April 13 college day event at County Line Church of Brethren

Self-defense for your spirit and body

County Line Church of the Brethren will hold a college day event from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at the church, 4227 N. Hardin Road (corner Sandusky and County Line Road).

Trish Wannamaker is the speaker with guest martial arts instructor Nicholas Green. The program focuses on self-defense for your spirit and body.

The event will include snacks and give-aways. Check the church Facebook page or call the church at 419-649-5364 for additional details.

Gospel Praise Gathering March 24 at Church of Christ, Disciples

A gospel praise gathering will take place at 5 p.m., Sunday, March 24, at Ada Church of Christ, Disciples, 316 S. Main St.

Ada Baptist youth collecting backpacks for the fall

Youth from Ada Baptist Church are collecting backpacks and school supplies for the 2019-20 school year for local students with needs. The youth's goal is 40 backpacks. Donations for this project can be placed in the chuch fellowship hall.

First United Methodist will conduct drive-thru Ash Wednesday service

First United Methodist Church will conduct a drive-thru Ash Wednesday service as it did last year, according to Rev. Brandi Rigsby, pastor.

This year Ash Wednesday is March 6. It marks the beginning of the Lenten season.

“Last year the congregation hosted a drive-thru Ash Wednesday service, and over 65 people participated in the imposition of ashes,” she said.

“We will, once again, host a drive-thru Ash Wednesday service that allows many to receive ashes and a blessing, who otherwise would not be able to attend a traditional Ash Wednesday service.”

Grace Gospel Church completes new fellowship hall

Special service and open house Feb. 24

Grace Gospel Church, 321 N. Gilbert St., Ada, will celebrate the completion of its new fellowship hall later this month, according to Trent Boedicker, pastor.

The celebration is Sunday, Feb. 24. A special worship service is at 10:30 a.m. Following the service will be an open house with a tour of the new facility.
