Alley vacation approved; report of aggressive dog shot

After sheltering during a tornado warning on the evening of May 3, the Icon took advantage of joining the 6:30 p.m. Ada Council Meeting via Zoom. The council had a quorum while councilors Sheila Coressel and Linda Mason served as Ada poll workers.
All items voted on were approved unanimously.
MAYOR’S COMMENTS
In his comments, Mayor Dave Retterer noted that the village had come through a pretty good storm. He also reported on a meeting with Ohio Health Group and shared the invitation to provide input on what additional medical services might benefit the Ada area. Councilor Jason Campbell noted that Ada High School is in need of athletic trainers.
The Ada village council is scheduled to hold a regular meeting on May 3, 2022. To preview the agenga and minutes to be approved from the prior meeting, see the May 3 Meeting Packet.
Council meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month at 6:30 pm.
Meetings are normally held in Council Chambers, located on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building, which is located at 115 West Buckeye Ave. Elevator service is available.

The April 21 meeting of the Ada Exempted Village Schools Board of Education was called to order at 6 p.m. in the board chambers at 725 W. North Ave. and chaired by board president, Dr. Amy Mullins.

The meeting included a brief confidential executive session to consider employment or employee matters.
While Councilor Linda Mason and Mayor David Retterer were not present and Councilor Jason Campbell joined the meeting during the public comment section--after completing his duties as coach of the Ada High School baseball team (and a big 14-0 win versus Waynesfield-Goshen--the Ada council did have a quorum for the April 19 meeting, which was chaired by Council President Jeff Oestreich.
TRANSFERS
After a brief review of three or four items, the council unanimously approved transfers including employee payment and the corrected classification of a street sweeper purchase in 2016 which improves the refuse fund balance.
The Village of Ada will hold a special council meeting to discuss the Grandview Boulevard proposed project.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Community Health Professionals Building, 1200 S. Main Street, Ada.
This meeting will be held to review updated construction plans for the Grandview Boulevard Reconstruction Proposed Project. Plans to be presented are 90% complete and are designed from the scope of work defined from the first public meeting.
