• Vehicles for sale

Our rates for those are only $10 for the first 10 days and $1 for each following day. We charge for those ads because we have realtors and auto dealers who are paying customers.

All other classified ads are free. We post garage sales the week that they are held. There is no deadline or maximum word count. We also provide a garage sale map. During garage sale season we post a link to the map on the top of the garage sale ads.

Welcome to the Ada Icon. For first-viewers, here's helpful answers to your questions.

Q: What is the Icon?
A: Think of the Icon as a daily newspaper on the web.

Q: When did it first appear on the web?
A: March 15, 2012.

How much do I pay to view the Icon?
A: Nothing. It's free to view. Unlike other newspaper websites, there is no limit to the number of stories you may read. And, you may access all of our archived material.

Q: How does the Icon make money?
A: Through very affordable local advertising. We have over 50 local advertisers.

Q: What might we expect to find in The Icon?
A: All sorts of things. Our primary coverage area is the Ada school district. According to Google Analytics, 90 percent of our viewers live winthin 25 miles of Ada. That takes in Lima, Findlay and Kenton. We also have a loyal following of viewers who grew up here and moved away, or who lived here for a time, but no longer do.

Q: How many viewers do you have?
A: Ada Icon experiences over 5,000 viewers in a 30-day period.

Q: Where do you obtain stories for the Icon? 
A: Viewers send us news items. We also post all Ohio Northern University news, and cover all aspects of the Ada community.

Q: Are there other Icons? Do you have other products in addition to your website?
A: In September 2009 we launched Bluffton Icon (www.blufftonicon.com). It is in a community the same size as Ada and the two school districts touch.There are many commonalities between the two communities, even though they are in different counties. For example, Ada is home of Ohio Northern University, as Bluffton is home of Bluffton University. Ada Icon covers the Ada school district and ONU in the same way that Bluffton Icon covers Bluffton.

SAW OPERATOR

A Saw Operator sets up and operates horizontal, vertical, power chop-saw, saws to cut, slot, groove, miter, and trim metallic and nonmetallic work-pieces according to specifications: Selects and installs blade on machine, using hand-tools. Sets controls to adjust speed, feed rate, and blade tensions. Positions guides, stops, holding blocks, or other fixtures to secure and direct work-piece, using hand-tools and measuring devices. Scribes reference lines on material as guide for sawing operations, according to blueprints, templates, sample parts, or specifications. Mounts work-piece in holding device, manually or using hoist/crane. Operates saw to cut along scribed lines. Verifies dimensions of first piece and through-out run, using measuring devices. 

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must:
Have experience using saws to cut steel or other metals. 
Set up and operate metal-sawing machines, band-saw to cut metal stock to dimensions
Be able to read blueprints and job order for specifications, like material, type and size of stock and dimensions to be cut
Be able to read a tape measure
Obtain transfers stock to machine, manually or with hoist/crane
Be able to pass a math test

Billing Specialist/Accounts Receivable/Accounting Assistant

Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio is in need of a detail oriented, self-motivated Accounts Receivable & Billing Specialist.  Prior experience in long term care billing would be preferred but not required.  This position will report to the Director of Finance and will work directly with an outside billing agency to communicate and transfer all needed data/information to them to insure proper billing and collection on all accounts. In conjunction with the billing agency, this position will be responsible for billing of monthly charges to the Elder or responsible party, insurances, Medicare, and Medicaid, along with posting payments on accounts and following up on late and underpaid accounts.

This position will also be involved with the input, processing, and review of accounts payable and biweekly payroll.

A successful candidate will have great communication skills with the ability to follow up and resolve any outstanding claims, technical billing issues or other variances.  It will be important to help families understand billing issues and keep an open and honest relationship with the families.  The ability to stick to deadlines and a commitment to keep accounts current will be vital.  This position is full time.
