2022 Ada Police officer accomplishments recognized with certificates, awards

On Monday, January 9, 2023, the Ada Police Department presented awards to officers for accomplishments from 2022. The awards recognized exceptional service including life-saving actions and risking threat to their own lives, as well as community and administrative activities.

On January 9, Ada mayor David Retterer officially swore in Alec Cooper (center) as the new Chief of Police. On Tuesday evening, a second ceremony took place during the Ada council meeting with Cooper's friends and family, including several members of the Delphos Police Department. Retiring Chief Harnishfeger will continue to serve the department for another six months. The Village of Ada will hold a regular Council Meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10 with a personnel committe meeting immediately after.

Meetings are held in Council Chambers, located on the 2nd floor of the Municipal Building, 115 West Buckeye Ave. Elevator service is available.

Betty Joy White Morris worked for General Motors Acceptance Corp.

Betty Joy White Morris, age 93, formerly of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Vancrest of Ada.

She was the fourth daughter of ten children born to the late Archie and Helen (Cambron) White, Adaburg, Kentucky on February 28, 1929. On April 15, 1980, Betty married Wendell Morris.
