Ada Gators splash Shawnee    

Monday Ada travels to Wapak; Thursday host to Findlay

ADA - The host Ada summer swim team defeated Shawnee Country Club Thursday night in the first home meet of the West Ohio Aquatic League season.

Ada beat the visitors 354-288 in the combined boys/girls team score.

The Alligator girls edged Shawnee 172-153, while the Gator boys triumphed 182-135.

Ada's Carlie Oldfield won three individual races in the girls 15-18 age bracket. She also swam a leg for three victorious relay squads.

ODOT road projects next week in Hardin County

 The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Hardin County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

• State Route 31 from south of the village of Mt. Victory to south of the city of Kenton will be restricted to one lane through the work zone on Saturday, June 12 for removal of pavement reflectors.

• State Route 37 between the village of Forest and the Hancock County line may have temporary traffic impacts for finish work following a resurfacing project.

My name is Charles, and this is how I got scammed, but survived it. 

I was on my computer, using a web browser, and suddenly there came a flash across the screen, saying “This computer is blocked.” This window popped up claiming it was from Microsoft, and that I needed to call this phone number to unblock my computer. 

I couldn’t get it off my screen. I’m a realtor and I need my computer. So I called the number.

A man answered; he said his name was Samuel Lester and that he worked with Microsoft. He then read out his staff ID number.

Ada Public Library is hub for this attraction

That familiar summer habit called "reading" is underway in Ada. 

The Ada Public Library is the hub of this popular summer attraction. The library uses Beanstack for this summer’s programming titled "Tails and Tales."

Brock Martin receives all-district academic honors

Ohio Northern junior All-American Brock Martin (Attica/Seneca East) was named First Team Academic All-District 7 in football by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First- and Second-Team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early July.

Martin was named Second Team All-America as an all-purpose player in 2019. He has also earned All-Region honors and is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference honoree. Martin has also earned Academic All-OAC honors twice in his career.

2 Ada summer events: Park-in-the-park car show followed by Hardin County tractor full

Two Saturday Ada events offer an assort of entertainment for area residents.
• Ada VFW park-in-the-park: noon to 5 p.m.
• Hardin County Tractor Pullers: gates open 4 p.m., pull starts 7 p.m.

Park-in-the-park

Ada’s VFW second annual park-in-the-park car, truck and bike show takes place from noon to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 12.

Last year’s event hosted nearly 100 vehicles. It is held at the War Memorial Park offering over six acres of shaded and open space and takes place rain or shine.
