Seniors Drew Keriazes, junior Jordan Breitigam and sophomore Brian Heilbronner each won three events to lead the Ohio Northern men's swimming & diving team to a 204-75 victory at John Carroll in the 2012-13 opener for both teams Saturday afternoon at the Don Shula Sports Center.

The Polar Bears won 12 of the 16 events to improve to 1-0 overall and are 1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue Streaks fall to 0-1, 0-1.

The victory extends Ohio Northern's streak of consecutive OAC regular season dual meet wins to 26.

Heilbronner won the 100 back in :56.34 and won the 200 back in 2:04.07.

Junior Kyle Rex also won twice, taking the 1- and 3-meter diving events unopposed with scores of 202.60 and 185.55, respectively.

Ohio Northern also swept the relays, winning the 200 medley relay in 1:54.15 and the 200 free relay in 1:28.48.

"This was a great meet as an opener for the men," ONU head coach Peggy Ewald said. "Our young men continue to show depth in strokes and took control in the relays. We were able to see our areas of recent focus improve and access where we need to concentrate over the next training phase."

The Polar Bears will return to action Friday night at 6 pm with the home opener against Wilmington at the ONU Sports Center.
