By Andrew Korba

Junior Carly Olmstead has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

This is the second straight week that Northern (9-2) has garnered in the award, as sophomore Brittany Miller was named player of the week last week (March 3).

Olmstead posted a perfect 2-0 record in doubles play.

On Tuesday, she teamed with junior Lauren Rife to win 8-4 at No. 3 doubles against Biola (Calif.).

She posted the lone doubles victory at No. 3 doubles with freshman Meghan Letizia in Northern's 6-3 loss to Whitter (Calif.).

Olmstead posted a 4-0 doubles record on the trip and is now 7-1 in doubles play on the season.

Ohio Northern will return to action on Friday when its hosts regionally ranked Oberlin at 4:30 p.m.
