Chamber and Business Alliance announces Hardin County events for July

Alliance Golf Outing
Sign up now for the 2013 Alliance Golf Outing.  This event will take place on August 9.   Teams will be posted and registration will start at 7:45 a.m..  There will be a SHOTGUN START at 8:30 a.m. The day will conclude with a meal and contest prize award presentation.

Cost per Foursome-$300, or reduced rates as follows: Golf Member & Cart Owner-$45; Golf Member without Own Cart-$55; Non-Member $75.  For more information about registering your team or sponsorships, call the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance at 419.673.4131.

Ada Fall Soccer sign up
Ada Fall Soccer Sign up will be the following dates at the Ada Park Shelter house:
·         June 27 4:30p.m.-6p.m.
(Before home swim meet)
·         June 29 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

Cost for Soccer - U6 $25 (includes a shirt), U8 $30, U10 is $35, U12 is $40, U15 is $45
$5.00 discount for each additional child. Jerseys are $20.00 for older teams (U8 - U15)
Remember to bring a copy of birth certificates if kids are "first timers" or if they have not played in the last year for Ada Soccer. Four years old as of August 1, 2013.

You can download this form in advance or fill it out at the park
Coaches will be needed as well.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Relay for Life Memorial Ride
This ride starts and ends at Amvets 1994, 417 W. Espy St., Kenton. Breakfast at 8 a.m. on June 29 (Sponsored by Ladies Aux. of Amvets Post 1994).

Chicken Dinner to follow ride catered by Stretch and Donna Morrison included in prices. All Street Legal Vehicles Welcome!

$20-single, $30-Double, Additional Passengers-$15, Kids $5 for meal. T Shirts, Raffles, 50/50 drawing and door prizes.

Kroger Crusaders Relay for Life Team Car Wash
Kroger Crusaders Relay for Life Team is having a car wash on June 29 from 1 - 5 p.m. at Advanced Auto in Kenton. Suggested donation for a car is $5 and for a SUV or truck is $10. Kenton Parks & Rec Activities
· July 1 – Free Swim at Kenton Swimming pool from 5p.m.-7p.m.. Open to everyone!
· July 13 – “Arts in the Parks” will visit Murray Park this time! All ages are welcome to decorate the basketball court with sidewalk chalk from 10a.m.-12p.m..
· July 20 - Catch & Release Fishing for Kids grades K-12 at the Quarry from 9a.m.-11a.m.. Adult Supervision required.
· July 27 - "Movie in the Park" for all ages at Wharton Park beginning at 8PM. Bring your blanket or lawn chair, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages and enjoy watching Disney's "The Incredibles".

Hardin County Tractor Pull
Hardin County Tractor Pullers Presents the 4th Annual Hardin County Fireworks Fund Truck & Tractor Pull onJune 29.  The first session begins at 3PM and the 2nd session begins at 6:30PM.  Admission is $6 per person, 12 & under are FREE!  For more information contact 567.674.0298.

Freedom Celebration
The Hardin County Agriculture Society has planned many activities for people of all ages on July 4. Parade line-up is at 3p.m., no need to pre register. 

The parade will leave the City of Kenton Parking Lot behind Liberty National Bank at 4p.m..  Also taking place as part of the festivities, a Bumper to Bumper Truck Tug beginning at NOON, the Golf Cart Pull will start immediately following the Truck Tug at around 5p.m.. Also enjoy: 50/50 Raffle Drawing; Chicken and Pork Chop BBQ Sponsored by Pomona Grange in the Community Building.  Car Show Registration from 11AM-12NOON, door prizes and trophies will be awarded at 3:30 p.m., contact Charlie Green at 567.674.1264 for more information. The Tree Town Festival features fun for the whole family. Kenton Kids Day
On July 13, visit the Court House Square for a day full of fun activities for kids age 2- 6th grade graduates! From 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Enjoy Horse Rides, Petting Zoo, 30 Foot Slide, Laser Game, Obstacle Course, Parachute Game, Face Painting, Games with the Hardin County Family YMCA and Two Bounce Houses! Fun Run with Ronald McDonald will kick off from Schindewolf-Stevens-Stout Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m.. The Cincinnati Circus Company will have two trapezes this year! Pressure Canning Workshop
Gardeners and other lovers of fresh produce are often interested in extending the season's bounty by home-preserving fruits and vegetables.

Sign up to learn/refresh your skills by attending one of two hand-on “Pressure Canning Workshop" presented by OSU Extension at 6:30PM– 9:00PM on either July 15 or July 25 at 1021 W. Survivor Lap at Relay for Life
Whether you were just diagnosed, have been a survivor for numerous years, or are still battling the disease, you are invited to join our Survivor Reception and Lap at the Relay for Life of Hardin County. You will receive a free t-shirt prior to the start of the Relay event. The survivors then "kick-off" our 18 hour event by taking the first lap during the Opening Ceremony at 6 p.m. on July 19.

Local Small Business Closed-Door Marketing Workshop
Marketing workshop for small business owners (one-woman or one-man operations especially) will be held at the Dicke Forum in Ada, Ohio ONU on July 16 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m..

The cost is regularly $79 (which includes lunch and signed copy of Matt Brown’s book, The Insurance Xperience), but for any Hardin County small business owners or entrepreneurs, Matt is offering a reduced rate of $29 (also includes lunch and signed book as a bonus). Maximum of 30 participants.

Beautification Awards
The Keep Hardin County Beautiful Commission will be sponsoring the monthly Beautification Award Program. Categories are Farm/Business, Residential and Non-Profit. Deadline for the August awards is July 16. Forms are available @ the MLJ Library, Ridgemont Library, Hardin Northern Library, Forest-Jackson Library, Ada Library or by calling 419-674-2216. Winners will be honored at the Annual Keep Hardin County Beautiful Banquet in the fall.

Camp Carefree
A free grief camp to help children and young teens ages 6-15 cope with the loss of a family member or friend. Camp Carefree will be held July 17 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for children ages 6-11 and on July 18 from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. for young teen’s ages 12-15.

Conflict Resolution Workshop
Pre-Registration is required. In this four hour workshop we'll examine the issue of conflict and confrontation, making distinctions between necessary (productive) conflict and disruptive, negative conflict. West Central Ohio Manufacturing Consortium & Husky Energy are sponsors of this event.

We'll consider the predictable conflict cycle (and how to break it before the conflict escalates) and look at alternatives to conflict management (mediation, negotiation) Two dates available: July 18 & July 25.
