Safety Council Deadline - July 31
Are you paying too much for Bureau of Worker’s Compensation Premiums? The BWC Division of Safety & Hygiene sponsors the Hardin County Safety Council, and offers rebates and bonuses to almost every employer. Employers are now eligible to receive up to 4 percent back on their BWC Premiums. Hardin County Players Present “Babes in Arms”
Don’t miss the amazing local talent in the musical “Babes in Arms” presented by the Hardin County Players. The musical will be held in the Kenton Middle School auditorium, Friday, July 26 @ 7:30PM, Saturday, July 27 @ 7:30PM, and July 28 @ 2PM. Hardin County Hospice Poker Run
The Hardin County Hospice 4th Annual Poker Run will be held Saturday July 27 starting at Thomas Tavern 801 Steiner Avenue, in Kenton. Registration 10AM, all out by 11AM, all back by 4PM. Donation requested $10 driver, $5 passenger. For more details call 419-674-3683, 419-674-3808.

Hardin County Family YMCA Youth Triathlon
A youth triathlon for athletes 7 to 14 years old is planned for July 27 beginning at 8AM. Participants 10 years old and younger will compete in a 100yd swim, 5K bike, 1/2 mile run, Participants 11-14 will compete in a 200yd swim, 10K bike and 1 mile run. Cost is $20 for YMCA members and $30 for Non-Members, all proceeds will benefit the HCFY Sea Dragon Swim Team. For more information contact Chris Kalla, Program Director at 419.673.6131.

“Stuff the Bus” and help area kids
A county wide partnership with United Way of Hardin County & the Helping Hands Outreach & area banks and businesses for “Stuff the Bus” will give the community an opportunity to make a difference. While you are shopping please consider picking up an item or more to help with our “Stuff the Bus” program.
·         Pencils & pens
·         Colored pencils & crayons
·         Markers & Dry erase markers
·         Erasers, scissors, glue & glue sticks
·         2 pocket folders, 1 & 3 subject notebooks & wide rule loose leaf/filler paper
·         Book bags and trapper keepers
These items will be donated to Helping Hands Outreach to prepare packs of “back to school” items so every Hardin County student can start the first day of school ready to learn.  Drop off locations include Quest Federal Credit Union- State Route 68South, State Route 309 East & Ada, Liberty National Bank- Kenton and Ada, US Bank Kenton, Huntington Bank, Kenton, Mt. Victory State Bank, Home Savings & Loan in Kenton, and Community First Bank in Kenton and many libraries throughout Hardin County. Youth & Adult Art Classes
Wolf Creek Art Center is seeking 40 young people ages 9-17 years old, and 40 adults who would like to attend free classes that will include free art supplies to take home with their projects. Young people will learn basic painting skills while creating 11”x14” acrylic landscapes on August 10 from 9AM-11AM.

Adults are invited to learn basic drawing techniques and the value of using sketchbooks for practice and observation. Select August 1 or 15 from 7PM to 9PM. All classes will be taught at the art center, 16163 Ohio 31, four miles south of Kenton. These sessions, taught by volunteer professional artists, are possible with a grant from the Hardin County Community Foundation. Hardin County Hospice Annual Golf Scramble
The Annual Golf Scramble to benefit Hardin County Hospice will take place on August 3 with a shotgun start at 8:30AM at Memorial Park Golf Course. Limited to 100 players, registration deadline is August 1. Raffle and 50/50 tickets will be sold prior to the shotgun start. FREE Swim at Kenton Pool
August 5 from 5PM to 7PM, City of Kenton Parks and Recreation Department will host a FREE Swim night at the Kenton Pool. Open to everyone. For more information call 419.675.4850.

Ada Farmers' and Merchants' Picnic 100th Anniversary
Ada Farmers' and Merchants' Picnic will be held on August 9-10 at War Memorial Park, Ada. Friday evening kicks off with a truck and tractor pull, and a concert with Exploit. Saturday is OWHA Horse Show, parade, greased pig contest, live entertainment, kiddie tractor pull, chain saw carving, 2PM a concert with the First Dew Band and at 8PM a concert with Controversy. Summer Festival at Immaculate Conception Church
The Summer Festival at Immaculate Conception Church, is on August 10-11, Sat, 5:30PM – 9:30PM, Sunday, 11:30AM -9:30PM in the church parking lot 220 E. North St., Kenton. Admission is free, musical entertainment, carnival food, beer n brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ Chicken Dinners, games for the whole family. Succession Planning
This program is geared for business owners and chief executives, especially of family-owned businesses.  The West Central Ohio Manufacturing Consortium, Rhodes State College and the Manufacturing Extension Partnership of NW Ohio are sponsoring a FREE session on “Succession Planning,” on Thursday, August 15, 8:00AM to 10:00AM, at 120 Keese Hall, Rhodes State College, Lima.

Hardin Hustle 5K Walk/Run
The Hardin Hustle 5K Walk/Run and Kid's Fun Run will take place on August 17 with race to begin at 9AM and Kid's Fun Run, ages 12 and under, to begin at 8:15AM. Registration will be from 7:30AM-8:45AM the day of the race. The course is a paved rural road, out and back. Mile splits. Water available along route. Kids Fun Run entry fee $5. Kids can participate in a 1/2 mile or 1 mile race. Entry fee includes a moisture wicking t-shirt. Entry fee for Adults varies depending on the type of shirt selected.
