Ohio Xtreme 12U takes season all the way to Florida

Here's a report on the Ohio Xtreme 12U fastpitch softball travel team from Erin Prater. The team includes girls from Ada.

The team played in the following tournaments this season:

USSSA Toledo Tune Up – finished with 4 wins and 3 losses – placed 10th out of 22 teams
USSSA Northern Ohio State Tournament – finished with 2 wins and 2 losses – placed 5th out of 10 teams
Van Wert Welch Fastpitch Tournament -  finished with 4 wins and 0 losses – placed 1st out of 6 teams
ASA Sylvania Claws and Paws Challenge – finished with 3 wins and 1 loss – placed 2nd
USSSA Summer Games at the Creek in Beavercreek – finished with 3 wins and 3 losses – placed 2nd out of 8 teams which qualified us for the USSSA World Series in Orlando
USSSA World Series at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla. – finished with 1 win, 2 ties, and 2 losses – placed 33rd out of 41 teams
Final rankings in USSSA for U12 class B – finished 3rd

The team had a successful season and really enjoyed their time on the diamonds and especially in Orlando.

The whole experience at the World Series was great from the opening ceremonies, to the pin trading, gift exchange and playing at ESPN.

They also got to spend one day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. There were three teams from Ohio in our bracket, including the PC Sting and Cincinnati Magic. We played against mostly teams from Florida and one from South Carolina.

There was rain every day, most of them downpours, which caused delays for many of the games. During one of the delays, the team played some games with a team from Puerto Rico to pass the time. The girls had fun meeting and competing against different teams!

Players who went to Orlando (in no particular order):  Olivia and Chloe Lawrence from Allen East, Averey Rumer from Bluffton, Katie Prater from Bluffton, Madisyn Gossard from Ada, Kendra Johnston from Spencerville, Madison Howell from St. Marys, Katie Goodman from Elida, Teyah Sautter from Ada, Carlee Hosterman from Wapakoneta, and Kara May from Spencerville.
