Ohio Northern was selected to finish sixth in both the coaches and media polls at the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference Football Media Day on Tuesday afternoon at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Polar Bears received 192 votes from 36 media members in attendance to finish sixth in the media poll and received 44 points in the coaches poll.

Coaches could not vote for their own team in their poll.

Mount Union was voted atop each poll, receiving 80 points and eight first place votes in the coaches poll and 353 points and 31 first place votes in the media poll.

Heidelberg was chosen to finish second in the coaches poll with 73 points and the other two first place votes, while Baldwin Wallace was tabbed to finish third with 60 points.

In the media poll, Heidelberg received the other five first place votes and was tabbed to finish second with 324 points. Baldwin Wallace was chosen to finish third with 270 points.

"No matter where we are picked in the standings at the beginning of the year, we understand that the standings that matter are at the end of the year," Ohio Northern head coach Dean Paul said. "We have the potential to finish higher, but it is up to us to do it on the field."

The Polar Bears went 4-6 overall in 2012 and finished sixth overall with a 4-5 record in the OAC.
