Dining With Diabetes
Kathy Oliver, OSU Extension Educator, Bernadette Coats, Hardin Memorial Hospital Certified Diabetes Educator, and Beth Hull, Hardin County YMCA will be offering “Dining with Diabetes” beginning at 5:00PM, September 23 in Kenton.  Dining With Diabetes is a three evening cooking school and a nutrition education program. Walk for Life
Raise awareness and funds for the work of Heartbeat of Hardin County. Heartbeat is a non-profit pregnancy resource center, helping men and women facing unplanned pregnancies. We are here to help men and women preserve life by either raising their own child or by choosing adoption. We offer free confidential pregnancy tests, long term support programs, and material needs for infants. The walk is 2 miles long, open to anyone. The first 120 who register on September 14 with a $20 donation or more will receive a gift and a chance for a gift basket. Registration opens at 8:30AM. Youth under 15 years old can walk for free (with a paying adult). They also receive a chance at special gift baskets for them. Rain or Shine! Call Heartbeat for more information at 419.674.4716.

ONU Glow Run
WHAT IS ONU GLOW RUN? ONU Glow Run is a 5K Run and Walk that benefits the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life of Ohio Northern University. This run is different because the race takes place at night and participants light up the course with glow in the dark wrist bands and after the race, participants are treated to post-race prizes. American Cancer Society staff and volunteers are excited to bring this unique and fun event to Hardin County. Sign up today to join the fun!

Awards: Awards will be given for top 5 runners.
Registration Pre- Registration will be $15. Pre-registrations will be accepted until September 13th. Day of race registration will be $20 and participants will not be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Harvest & Herb Festival
Ada hosts the Annual Harvest and Herb Festival in downtown Ada every September. This year's 28th Annual festival is on Saturday, September 21. Fish Fry
Enjoy fried fish, baked beans, cole slaw and funnel cake for $10 at Murray Park on September 28 from 4PM-8PM. Also enjoy live entertainment. Proceeds will go towards the improvement of Murray Park. Area Farmers’ Markets
·         Kenton Farmers’ Market will continue on Saturdays from 9AM-12NOON through September. The Market will be in the same location as previous years on W. Columbus Street between Detroit Street and Market Street. There will be a minimal booth fee to cover the cost of advertising. Please contact Lynn Hoover at 419-674-4580 for more information.
·         Forest Farmers’ Market is held on Saturdays; new hours are 10AM to 1PM in the Forest-Jackson Library Parking Lot. Also new this year, currently one vendor is accepting Senior Nutrition Program and WIC. In addition, one vendor will be accepting debit cards!
·         Ada Farmers’ Market will be held every Thursday in the Community Health Professional’s Parking lot from 4PM-7PM. Contact Deb Curlis at 419-634-7443 for more information.
·         Hardin Memorial Hospital will continue their Farmers’ Market season on Thursdays from 11:30AM to 3:30PM in the northwest parking lot. There is no charge to be a part of the market. Any vendor that is interested in participating and falls under the guidelines should contact Chris Davis at 419.675.8137.
