Hardin County Community Foundation & The Inn At ONU
“Pairing” up for a fantastic evening of Food and Wine

Enjoy a special Food & Wine Pairing on November 7 at 6:30PM, The Inn will present a selection of fine wines paired perfectly with outstanding food. Live music and wine education will be presented. Reservations are required and are $45.00 per person plus tax and gratuity.
A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to benefit the Hardin County Community Foundation who is assisting the Inn with the promotion of the evening’s events. On behalf of the foundation, we invite you to join us November 7th for a relaxing and engaging evening of good food, wine and friends.

Upcoming @ ONU’s Freed Center for the Performing Arts
·         All-Ohio Choral Day - November 1 at 7:30PM - 9:30PM in the Freed Center: Biggs Theatre.  The second annual All-Ohio Choral Day at ONU will feature high school students from around the state as well as all four of the ONU choral ensembles. Guest composer, pianist, and conductor, Joseph Martin’s music will be featured in this, the culminating event of a four-day artist in residency with Joseph Martin. Mr. Martin will conduct the festival chorus in a grand finale with a performance of six of his most popular compositions.
·         Katie Armiger - November 2 at 7:30PM in the Freed Center. Fans of country music will enjoy country artist Katie Armiger of Cold River Records. Katie has earned her way onto the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart five times now and is currently enjoying the success of her latest release "Fall Into Me." There will be a free workshop with this amazing artist on November 2, at 2:00PM.
·         Divalicious - November 3 from 4:00PM - 6:30PM in the Freed Center: Biggs Theatre. The ONU Marching Band presents their 2013 Program "Divalicious." The show is a tribute to the most popular female vocalists of our time. Featuring the music of Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Beyonce, Madonna, Susan Boyle and Adele.
·         ONU Holiday Spectacular - November 21 & 22, 7:30PM, and November 23 at 2PM & 7:30PM. A beloved family tradition once again comes to life. Enjoy the songs and stories of the season as your favorite characters kick off the holiday season. Experience the beauty for yourself with festive carols, incredible sets, dancing and of course, Santa himself.

The auction will be going live today at 5PM, every business will be listed. We would like for each and every basket to have a chance to be bid on and previewed before Christmas Around the Square on November 9. Nominations for Annual Awards now being accepted
Nominations for the 2013 Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and Community Service Awards will be accepted through February 3, 2014. Anyone from Hardin County may be nominated to receive these honors. To nominate a person, group or business for these awards, please complete an application and return with a short explanation of the qualifications that make this nominee deserving of the award. The application can be downloaded from www.hardinohio.org, from the Facebook page or picked up in the Alliance office. Entries should be submitted by February 3 to the Hardin County Chamber & Business Alliance office at 225 S. Detroit St., Kenton. You may also fax the completed form to 419.674.4876 or email it to [email protected].

Christmas Around the Square Events
The 27th Annual Christmas Around the Square Craft Fair will take place on November 9, 2013 from 9AM to 2PM in the Historic Hardin County Courthouse in Kenton, Ohio. The halls will be full of shabby chic home décor, Christmas decorations, candles, Crocheted items, hair accessories, baked goods, garden stones, quilted items, photography, little girls & doll clothing, and handmade jewelry. The third floor is dedicated entirely to direct sales-US Bourne Books, Pink Zebra, Pampered Chef, Body by Visalus, Gold Canyon Candles, Lilla Rose Hair Clips, Scentsy, Advocare, Avon, Tastefully Simple, Mary Kay, Paparazzi, and 31, Origami Owl, and Perfectly Posh.
·         Harco Choir will perform Christmas Carols at 9:30am on the steps inside the Courthouse
·         HCCBA Basket Auction will take place in Veteran’s Hall at 11am, featuring 30 unique creations from members.
·         50/50 Raffle-$1 each or 6 for $5 or $10 for a stretch. Drawing will take place at 1pm. Need not be present to win.

Pancake and Whole Hog Sausage Breakfast
Start your holiday season off by stopping by to support the breakfast fundraiser before going to Christmas Around the Square on November 9 and your other holiday activities. Holiday Bazaar at Hardin County Council on Aging
Craft items, Holiday themed items, other gift items. Hard Tack Candy, Noodles & Baked Goods. Lunch will be available from 11AM to 2PM on November 1, including chicken and noodles, chilli soup, sloppy joes, chicken sandwiches, drinks and desserts. Heritage Cooperative Breaks Ground For Kenton Agriculture Campus Expansion
Heritage Cooperative will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on November 1, at 1PM for a $7 million expansion to its 125 Bales Rd., Kenton location. The expansion will benefit the local economy and increase services to the organization’s customers. Specifically, the project includes building a state-of-the-art fuel station, located at Bales Road and State Route 31, and construction of several storage tanks and a load-out building for the agronomy division that will provide increased services to Heritage Cooperative’s local customers.
The first phase of the expansion is the fuel station, which will offer gasoline, E85, diesel, diesel exhaust fluid and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The second phase of the expansion will begin in December and will include a two-million-gallon liquid fertilizer storage tank and a computer automated liquid load-out building.

Dine In with United Way
Dine In with United Way on November 4 at Sister’s Midway Restaurant, 350 W. Franklin St., Kenton. A portion of the days proceeds will benefit the Hardin County United Way.

2013 Hardin Leadership Graduation
Twenty-two Hardin Leadership participants will be recognized for completing the nine session program on Thursday evening, November 14 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant, 491 S. Main St., Mt. Victory. Gathering begins at 5:30PM with dinner buffet beginning at 6PM. Representing the class with “Class Reflections” will be David Dellifield of Ada. The annual meeting for Hardin Leadership will take place following the graduation so alumni are encouraged to attend. Hardin Leadership 2013 graduates must secure dinner reservations by Friday, November 8 for themselves and their sponsors. Guests and community leaders are invited with meal reservations of $15.00 also due by November 8. Pigskin Pageant
Want to see the KHS Band performance, without getting wet, or cold? Go to the PIGSKIN pageant, November 11, at 7:30PM at high school gym. They will perform all half time music. A dinner is available prior to the performance - Lasagna, green beans, applesauce, rolls, texas sheet cake and drink for $6.50 adult and $3.25 child. On December 7, from 10AM to 3PM the Hardin County Historical Museum will hold a Christmas Open House. You are invited to set up a (one) table at our open house. The cost is a donation to the Museum.

Hardin County Historical Museums seek Trustees
The Hardin County Historical Museums is seeking people interested in serving on the Board of Trustees.  A trustee serves four years.  Trustees must be interested in history, willing to serve on committees, attend monthly board meetings and support the mission of the Museum.  Many of the events and activities at the Museum are in the evening and on Saturday and Sunday.  Trustees are encouraged to help plan and participate in those events.  Trustees must also be members in good standing of the Museum.
If you are interested please contact the Museum at 419-673-7147 or e mail [email protected] by November 15.  We have a questionnaire that you will be asked to complete.  When a sufficient number of people have responded, an election (voting is by the membership per the bylaws) will be held.  Terms will start January 1, 2014 and last for four years.
