Santa and lots more happening in Monday's "Merry on Main"

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce launches Ada’s holiday season with its first-ever “Merry on Main,” Monday, Dec. 2, according to Deb Curlis of the chamber.

The community holiday lights that are traditionally located in the Ada Park, this year will decorate the Depot Park downtown.

The depot area will have over 18,000 lights, which will be turned on for the first time on Friday, Nov. 29.

Then from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday “Merry on Main” takes center stage. The evening includes a visit from Santa Claus. Photos with children on Santa’s lap will be available for $2 each.

During Santa’s visit there will be free cookies, coffee and hot chocolate served in the Depot. Treat bags will be given to all children who visit Santa.

Horse and wagon rides will take place during the evening, with free rides offered.

In addition, the Ada Music Boosters will provide free gift-wrapping during "Merry on Main.” To have your presents wrapped, please bring them into the Ada Depot between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. that evening.

From 7 to 8 p.m., the Ada High School Varsity Singers will sing Christmas carols near the depot from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The "Merry on Main" theme continues Ada's downtown theme events, which have included "Music on Main," in the summer and "Halloween on Main," in October.
