The annual membership drive for the Ada Music Boosters is continuing throughout the fall.
A flyer was mailed to all Ada households in July and the boosters encourage Icon viewers to return it with a contribution towards this year’s fund-raising drive. With the help of the Ada community, the music boosters are able to enhance music education and the performance-based programming for the Ada Exempted Village Schools.
Here's an update on booster project from David Smittle, Music Booster treasurer:
• We purchase choir robes, band uniforms, instruments, Varsity Singers costumes, props and music and support our Sstate and regional award-winning winter guard, marching band and show choir.
• We assist with funding music department educational trips to New York City and Walt Disney World, help underwrite high school musical productions, support elementary music programs and help host events which greatly benefit our community.
• New this year… please also consider contributing to three new Booster funds... We have established a Varsity Singers Alumni Scholarship to help provide financial support to students who may need assistance to be part of the show choir and have also started ongoing savings accounts to help purchase marching band uniforms and a replacement equipment trailer, which each need to be purchased about every 10 years.
• We’re proud to support all aspects of music education in our schools and we encourage you to please be an Ada Music Boosters Patron this year. Your donation definitely helps us increase the level of support we are able to provide. Thank you for your continued support of the Ada Music Boosters.
